wednesday.. another long day and i'm off to reservist tomorrow
and friday 
fat lot of good the reservist stint is for me coz it's a
"refresher course for combat medics"
thing is, i've not been combat fit since late 1996 and i turn 40
this year... nursing a slipped disc, i don't think they want me
crawling around or using my back muscles going for it doing
CPR...
which means i go there and bum around, offer my veins in my arm
to be stabbed at with a yakult straw-sized needle, then go home
early...
I can still remember last year's medic refresher course, which
was held concurrently with my unit's ICT.
Some CPL from my division HQ called me and asked me why I wasn't
with my unit.... he even threatened me with an AWOL charge.
As I pointed out to him, I had an SAF 100 and a letter from some
big-shot COL in my division. Both documents ordered me to go for
the medic refresher course.
I shot back at him, 'So you see, I have all the documents
backing me up. You want to charge me? CHARGE LAH!!!'
